Okay, I admit it (once again), I’m still learning, and could be wrong, BUT, for those who adhere to bible alone, does it necessarily follow that the Holy Trinity, can’t be found in the Bible? (Albeit, not in that exact term)
We say that Jesus was the Son of God, but he was conceived of the Holy Spirit, does that not say the Holy Spirit was also God? Jesus was named Emmanuel, which means ‘God with us’…doesn’t that tell us He is also God.
In 1 Tim. 3:14-16, Paul writes of the ‘great secret of our religion’, which is God, who came down and appeared in Human form. Does this not tell us Jesus is God?
God the Father as creator of heaven and earth = The Works of God
God the Son = The Word of God, and
God the Holy Spirit = the Wisdom of God (He imparts wisdom to us, as he did to the disciples.)
They are 3 parts of the one Whole.

Just my reasoning, but I hope this makes sense.

Peace be with you all.🙂

The Trinity is definitely implied in my opinion, but the argument is that the word “Trinity” is not in the Bible. This is usually to counter the argument that words like “pope,” “purgatory,” or “transubstantiation” are not found in the Bible. The concept is implied even if the specific word is not there.

You would love Mark Shea’s By What Authority?. In it, he relates listening to a evangelist’s call in radio show when an Arian (non-trinitarian) called up with mountains of Scripture quotes to counter every one the host tossed out. Finally, the host just blurted out that God is a Trinity because that is what 2000 years of Christian teaching tells us.

Score one for extra-biblical authority. :dancing:

Yet many Protestants do not agree on the formula correct? You make it sound like it’s som simple to figure out. There are many ideas about the nature of God, which one is correct?

the word trinity not being in the bible also brings up the argument that “sola scriptura” doesnt need to be in there either… but if they truly followed the bible, theyd realize theyre missing a bit;)

Yes, that is true, and I had never thought of that. But the question becomes if the sola scriptura is not in the BIble like the word Trinity, where is it or did it come from??? And that probably would not be too popular train of thought in Protestant circles. Thanks and God Bless.

What’s your point. You just posted a group of facts.Nun of the Above.

For that matter; 1. Why call it a Bible, the word Bible isnt in the Bible! and 2. The language of the Original Bible was Hebrew & Greek, therefore these new words like transubstantiation couldnt have been in the Bible - WHY?- they had not been “invented” at the time of the writting of the Bible. Also Trinity is not a Greek nor a Hebrew word! So it couldnt have been in the Bible.

How about the fact that the word bible doesn’t appear in the bible. That one usually throws them through loops.

**Hi Exporter, 🙂 **
I apologise for failing to include my reason for this post. :o I was in a hurry and my brain had formulated the reason, but it failed to make it to my fingers. (I’m in Australia and needed to get my children to their school bus.)
**I guess what I wanted to ask, is how anyone can fail to see the trinity in the Bible? Even though it is not specifically addressed as such, it is alluded to. **
There are many protestant denominations who somehow manage to accept the Trinity, even though it isn’t written in there; but you have some who reject it out of hand. Why, when the ‘facts’, are in the bible, do they reject them, saying there is no evidence of it in the bible? Do they truly not see it, or do they see it, and side step it because they may have o re-evaluate the denomination they belong to?
I don’t ask this in an aggressive manner. I am just stumped to understand why they don’t / won’t see it there; large as life.
I hope this satisfies you question. As to your other points, I agree whole-heartedly.

Peace be with you, and those whom you love.

I hope God keeps you all out of satan’s destructive path, and keeps you safe from harm / illness.

Peace be with you all, and those whom you love.
