please pray for my SIL’s family. My 4 yr. niece & 8 yr. nephew have been off from school due to the hurricane.

They are experiencing flooding in the neighborhood. Some roads are blocked off due to the high water. Their house is experiencing water coming into the living and dining room plus their pool is overflowing.

Phone lines and electricity are down until next week. She can only email us here in NY if the power does come back on for a few seconds. They already filed a claim w/the insurance company but still…

Pray that the storm moves so the entire area of Sanford can clean up and folks can work on repairing damage to their homes.

Thank you.
How awful! We live in fear of storms all through the hurricane season here, and went through Ivan and Katrina. I’ll definitely pray that things dry up quickly (and that they have flood insurance!)

please heed
the category of the storm does not predict how bad your area will be affected, the low ranked storms move more slowly, tend to stall and have more erratic paths–Fay is a textbook case–and can stall dumping tons of rain. that is also what happened with Dolly. people here still say what was worse was the unrelenting nature of hours and hours of pounding rain as the storm just sat here. the far greater danger and property damage after a hurricane is from water, not wind, and also that is what you are least likely to be insured for.

after a funeral yesterday up north and west of here, where the greatest damage was from Dolly, did an informal survey, 100s of acres still flooded, so much damage to crop and ranch lands, the only ones happy are the birds.

I’ve been hearing form friends in Deltona (NW of here) that it’s now very bad there.

This is truly a disaster for most of our state…and it’s still here!!! If you’re in it’s path, keep a sharp eye…

It’s raining again here…
