There are a lot of topics about “the end times” on this forum, but I haven’t seen any regarding the connection to Donald Trump. A lot of fundamentalists have been making connections to Donald Trump and “end times” prophecies. I am a serious Roman Catholic, and if you were to ask me about this stuff just 5 years ago and I would have dismissed it as the most “crazy religious right-wing conspiracy bs” imaginable. But now I don’t know anymore. No doubt something strange is happening to the United States and the West, almost biblical in scope.

Here are some of their beliefs:

There is such hatred for the gospel and for life in this world. ( I agree with this one)

Donald Trump a respite from the coming end times. (maybe? He is no doubt the first staunchly pro-life president)

Regarding the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, first horse of the Apocalypse is beginning to ride on the earth. (I believe according to them this would be Trump)

Donald Trump’s purpose is to thwart the coming One World Government. ( There is no doubt a huge push for socialism and globalism. And Climate Change has become a huge political issue requiring more government regulation)

"But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents… ( This is highly accurate of our current times).

Just google “Trump End Times” and you will see articles and entire books devoted to this topic.

Yes it’s true that some fundamentalists can have almost a “schizophrenic” reading of the Book of Revelations, and see signs from it in everything in the world. But I’ve never seen such blind hatred and division in America in my entire lifetime. I haven’t really seen the Catholic Church’s response to this stuff coming out of the Christian Right. Are these ideas really “too crazy” to even respond to?

No one knows the time nor hour. I recommend reading Scott Han’s book about revelation. I just finished taking a course on the book and its changed the way I see the end times, not doom and gloom as alot of people expects it to be.

People say this every century: the Roman Emperors, the Huns, the Muslims, the Vikings, Napoleon, Modernists, Communists, Nazis, etc.

The urgency of the messages given to St Faustina have a sense of end times nigh. Her most desperate plea to us is regarding mercifulness.

Today I am sending you with My mercy to the people of the whole world. I do not want to punish aching mankind, but I desire to heal it, pressing it to My Merciful Heart. I use punishment when they themselves force Me to do so; My hand is reluctant to take hold of the sword of justice. Before the Day of Justice I am sending the Day of Mercy (1588).

As someone who spent many years working for law firms in DC and went to law school there, I would urge you to please send your brain back 5 years in Mr. Peabody’s Time Machine or Marty McFly’s car or whatever, and not succumb to the political theater hysteria.

There is nothing “biblical” happening to the United States except that individual people as always need to stop sinning, repent and do reparations.

90 percent of people involvd in politics are in love with themselves, or want everyone else to be in love with them, and they also love money and most of them have a lot of it or have access to friends with a lot of it. This is not new. It has been this way my entire life and I’m not young.

With that, I am muting the thread.

They also start talking “end times” every time a volcano goes off, the earth quakes, a big meteorite hits Earth, North Korea shoots off a rocket, etc.

We do not know the day, nor the hour, and it’s pointless to think this way. I do not claim to understand it.

The US is about 4% of the world’s population,
What happens here prolly isn’t the end of the world.

That being said, empires rise and empires fall.

😂 😂 😂 Thanks Tis_Bearself this part made me laugh really hard.

The National “Catholic” Reporter is Catholic in name only. The bishops of the diocese where its home office is located have tried several times, without avail, to get them to stop calling themselves Catholic.

To think the President*, Pelosi, The United States have any sort of importance on a biblical scale is ridiculous. We Americans tend to think we are much more important than we really are. When I get that way, and it happens more than it should, a hard lesson in humility always comes.
