Trump vs corona virus

Presidential elections are upon us and it strikes me that there is only one candidate in the race. The democratic party’s candidate is conspicuously absent, physicall and apparently mentally. He has no platform, no ideas and no ability to discuss any topic of importance.
Thus, Trump seems to be running against the corona virus, or rather our perception of how he is “handling” the virus.
What do you think will happen if corona actually defeats Trump this November? Who will be running this country?

Not biased in the least, are we!

You seem to think that the coronavirus is President Trump’s enemy. Not so. It was a golden opportunity for him to show true leadership.

This is/was Trump’s war. He could have been the wartime president who united the country and led us to glorious victory. Instead he has been divisive and indecisive. He had blown it, for himself and the US. We are all suffering more than necessary because of his foolishness.

I agree with you that the Democratic Party has not put forth a strong candidate. Whoever wins, we lose. May God have mercy on the United States of America.

Mostly just stating facts. The dems have no candidate. Corona is Trump’s undoing.
With the democratic win in November there will be no president; good, bad or indifferent. But someone still has to run the country. I think there is reason to be concerned.

As a Canadian who is a keen U.S. history buff (my American wife of 39 years has made sure of that), and looking on without any favorites in the matter I can offer 2 purely personal observations. 1. The 2016 election offered the two worst presidential choices in the history of your country. 2. The 2020 election is again going to offer you the two worst choices in the history of your country. I see a trend here and can hardly wait for 2024.

Personally I’m not concerned. Canada and the US have both survived some truly terrible governments and will do so again. If they bring back dueling as a way to settle partisan politics I would not be the least surprised. My two sons are named after Alexander Hamilton who was gunned down by the Vice President of the day. It’s always interesting to see how the old ways compare with our modern “fix it” measures. 😅

Well it won’t be JB if he’s elected,he’s a stooge for the left. really very sad for him but frightening for our country. Please God help us 🙏

If Joe Biden is elected, I suspect he will be strongly influenced by Bernie Sanders based on his 100 pages of policy proposals he recently put out. Apparantly they wrote it together.

Watching Joe Biden speak publicly and on his livestreams reminds me of speaking with clients I used to work with who had dementia. He very clearly has severe cognitive deficits and I think its cruel that he is being paraded around to embarrass himself. He may want to be president but those close to him should not allow him to be used like this, in my opinion. Trump also embarrasses himself at times but he seems deliberate when he does it, not dazed and confused.

I’d say the President is less responsible for covid 19 in the US than any US homeowner is for anyone in their household getting infected.

Sure. But that’s just rational thinking. What’s at stake is the election and the democratic candidate can not beat Trump. So the dems played with various conspiracies for three years now to get Trump out of the way. Having failed there, they are using the virus crisis to make Trump unelectable. And there is a good chance that they will succeed.

There was a point in time when I thought that as well. However, these riots and the resultant chaos and destruction may be a bit too much for even the most ardent T ump hater. The Dems have exposed their true affiliation and capitulation to the left idiology .

Anything could happen. I’m not even sure both candidates will survive till November. Or either? That would surely stir things up.

I think Pres. Trump is handling the epidemic fine. Epidemics aren’t something we as a country deal with yearly, so I think we’ve all had to learn things along the way.

Pres. Trump has had to deal with the daily presidential stuff as well as balance world situations, get jobs to come back to the USA, the magical caravans of thousands of illegals trying to come across the border… oh yes, whatever did happen to them? POOF! All the while having nothing but media negativity and the Dems fighting almost every-thing positive he is trying to do. And now an epidemic. I think he is doing just fine.

I think most of the Dem mayors and governors have been trying their best to sabotage Pres. Trump doing well, and all the looting, shooting, burning, destruction and lawlessness is happening for a purpose. I think they think people will get so fed up with all the violence and shootings that that will give them the foot in the door to begin taking guns, “to stop all the shootings”. It will start with “scary guns” then move right down the line. After all, V.P. Biden did tell Beto that he would appoint him just for that purpose. I do think all this lawlessness the mayors/governors are letting happen is going to backfire on them, and if people are paying attention, will boot them out.

No, I don’t care for Pres. Trump’s N.Y. brash way about him, I don’t care for some of the stuff he did when he was younger ( Heck, I don’t care for some of the stuff I did when I was younger). I wish he would talk in a kinder way, I wish he wouldn’t try to fight back about every negative thing said, and I wish he felt more secure about himself. I really do believe in my heart that he loves this country, he wants what’s best for it, he is tired of the rest of the world taking advantage of it, and that he wants everyone to do well and succeed. He may not be the nicest president we’ve ever had, but when push comes to shove, we are in very troubled times, and I’m very thankful we have a fighter in right now, and not an appeaser.
