Trying to find an old novena with promises. Anyone heard of this?

This article is found in the Summer 2017 edition of the Marian Helper magazine on page 10 titled “They Cut Us To Ribbons”. It is the testimonial from a Korean war veteran of a powerful novena prayer to our Lady but the article never mentions the prayer or all the promises. The author only mentions two promises: 1. You would not have a violent death and 2. No metal would pierce the skin. Have you ever heard of any of this? I contacted the Marians to ask them but sometimes it takes awhile to hear back from them. I’m on a mission to try and find the novena/promises.

I have never heard of novena promises that offer to alleviate suffering, but one could pray for relief of course, has our Lord is the epitome of compassion. Such a promise would seem out of place for a generation that is in need of sacrificial mortification. But then perhaps I’m wrong.

But if one is looking for promises, the Holy Mother can be counted on to keep hers to sincere and persevering devotees.

This man Francis Kennedy has also told the same story in a book containing interviews with Korean War veterans. In that book he says one of the promises was that he would not be burned in addition to the “no metal would pierce the skin”. Unfortunately, he didn’t name the novena there either.

Adding a link to the story in the book, bottom of page 21

It sounds a bit like the Novena to St. Joseph that is supposed to protect against burning and falling into the hands of the enemy, among other things, but since he states this is a novena to the Blessed Mother, would seem to be different.
