Is it a venial or mortal sin to eat a tuna sandwich at work?

Well, in truth I’m eating leftover salmon, which isn’t exactly tuna but still potentially problematic. 😄

if eating a tuna sandwich at work is a sin then stinking up the office with your burnt bag of microwave popcorn is right up there with blasphemy of the Holy Spirit… unforgivable. 🤢 😁

When I was in grad school, every so often a small group of fellow students from a faraway land would use the student lounge’s microwave to reheat a fish meal. It drove everyone else out of the room every time. 😋

Venial or mortal depends on in whose trashcan the related tuna sandwich trash is deposited.

Please tell me you didn’t heat up that fish in a break room with in close proximity to a waiting room full of people with gastroenteritis.
If you’re meaning me—no, it was a cold sandwich, I have a mostly private office, and am nowhere near anyone with a gastro-anything. But nonetheless, odorous fish can travel as fast as email.

Lingering stench contained in sealable container. Air freshener as a work of mercy, and you’re in the clear.

a Tuna sandwich is polite compared to some of the vile offerings I have seen! Imagine beets in cottage cheese. Someone actually did that.

One time a person made a microwaveable meal that had an excessive amount of garlic flavoring in my office and it stunk up the office to point I was gagging and had to go outside.

Am I missing some type of joke?

Why would you think that eating a tuna sandwich for lunch at work would be any kind of sin?

egg salad can be totally licit. Not all egg salad smells strongly.

There is a cafeteria near where I work that makes killer egg salad sandwiches that don’t have much of a smell at all.

It is a joke. Some people don’t like the smell of tunafish or other foods and object when co-workers eat them.
