I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this show!
I can’t wait for the new season!!! 😃

I received a gift card to Target and decided to use it right away. (I
reallllly don’t like to see them expire because I left 2-3 dollars on
them) I am not a shopper so I wandered all over the store until I
spotted the book section. I wanted to see if they had any books
on DVD’s (they didn’t, apparently sold out). Then I spotted the
“Lost” DVD’s and grabbed the season one. I spotted the
price. Over $40.00!!! (Gift card=$25) So, “Lost” fans, is it worth
it? Any other way or place to gets them?

I personally don’t like buying TV series on DVDs…however, LOST and Heroes was an exception for me! 👍

You may try Ebay or Amazon. I buy a lot of my books from Amazon for cheaper since they are used. You might find the same success with DVDs too.
I base who I buy from by their seller feedback and the price, of course. If it is a seller whose sells thousands a month, then they have to have 97% or above. For those sellers who only sell an item occasionally here and there, they would have to have a 100% rating.

When you do get it, I really hope you enjoy!! 🙂

Totally worth it! You can watch more than one episode, but be careful you may not want to stop! (I watched seasons 1 and 2 on DVD and season 3 online)…

OR you could watch all the seasons online at abc.com

I think I’ll get the DVDs. I’ll get season I on DVD and go from there. I tried watching the first episode, but it apparently wasn’t
the first, first. Do they call the “beginning” episode something
else? Plus I don’t like the commercials. That alone might be
worth the money…lol.

On Amazon, if you’re willing to put down the money to get the first 3 seasons at the same time, it comes out to just over $30 per season. You even get free shipping! 😉

Then you can use your Target gift card to get popcorn. LOTS of popcorn. 🍿

🙂

I totally agree. Sit back and enjoy the ride! Yeah, there’s question upon mystery upon myster upon question. But if I’m reading a book I don’t jump to the end to understand everything.

Now if they’d end the show tomorrow without the questions being answered, that’d be a different story. Until then though, it’s been a sweet ride!
That’s how I feel about it, too. The show does have two more seasons to go. I’m very curious to see how it plays out. I don’t understand why some people are already down on the show for having too many loose ends when it’s not over yet. 🤷 Of course they’re not going to answer anything yet.

If anyone cares to keep track of all these “mysteries”, there is a Lostpedia wiki that is tracking the major mysteries of the show. In many other articles about differenct characters, there is also a section for “unanswered questions” related specifically to that person.

I don’t anticipate that all the loose ends will be tied up. With a team of writers and producers and actors working over the span of six years on what is essentially one story, there are going to be loose ends. It’s unavoidable (and in some cases, they want to leave a few unanswered questions for the fans to ponder and talk over long after the series has run its course). But I expect they’ll answer most of the major questions.

That’s the problem with the internet for Hollywood: it’s far too easy for fans to remind them when they’re being inconsistent or are forgetting something. 🙂

Watching this show is like repeatedly having a brain anuerysm voluntarily.

I mean, this is the worst show in the world.

Ever.

I’m very good at being an audience.

Theater was important to my family, and I can suspend disbelief at the drop of a hat and surrender to the story without reservation.

But if an actor really messes up or a story becomes insultingly stupid, it tears me out of the state of mind where I need to be to enjoy myself. It’s audience abuse.

I’m content to wait for answers, but I have to have a sense that answers are forth coming at some point, that the writers have to know where they are going, not just making it up as they go along, like a 5 year old telling a story ‘and then, and then, and then…’]

When it was revealed that time passes faster on the island-- the sun is rising and setting there several times a day-- well, that was just a step too far, and seems to have been completely unnecessary.

Fine if you still enjoy it, but it’s now a fantasy along the lines of Zena, Warrior Princess, and not a story from our world at all.

Fair enough. Although, having watched Alias (another J.J. Abram’s creation) and seeing all the “visions” and smoke monster stuff, I had already placed the show firmly in the fantasy category. 🙂

For me, the fact that they came out and put an end date on the show gives me an indication that they do have some idea of where they want things to go and aren’t just making it up as they go along (though I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the minor story arcs are like that).

I know that stories evolve, too, and sometimes you begin writing a story with one thing in mind, but end up somewhere completely unexpected. In books, the author has the benefit of going back and revising the beginning of the story to eliminate inconsistencies before it is published. In TV, the beginning is already out there on DVD before the end has been written, so it’s easier for things to slip by and harder to change them.

I’ve already come to terms with the fact that people will be discussing these inconsistencies and unanswered questions long after the show has finished. But I’m still curious to see how it all plays out. 🙂
