TV Network for Gays, Lesbians to Debut

NEW YORK – The man who’s molding Logo, the new network for gays and lesbians, grew up in rural Illinois, attended Oral Roberts University and counted that cheesy keyboard solo on “Freeze Frame” as his big moment during gigs with his college band the Ozones. At first glance, Brian Graden hardly seems too hip for the room.

But the 42-year-old Graden is one of television’s busiest and most imaginative executives, already responsible for the programming on MTV, VH1 and CMT - and now Logo, which debuts Thursday.

Long in the works, Logo will initially be seen in about 10 million homes with digital cable. Unlike Here and Q, two pay-per-view, gay-oriented networks already operating, Logo will be available in homes that do not specifically order it. Films such as “Kissing Jessica Stein” and “Philadelphia” and documentaries will fill many of Logo’s first hours. The network also has a scripted series, “Noah’s Arc,” about a homosexual black man and his friends in Los Angeles, a reality series about opening a gay bar and the stand-up comedy series “Wisecrack.”

A gay man himself, Graden had hoped to help out with Logo even before he was appointed its president.

Hmmm, no surprise that this network has an MTV connection. Just when I thought TV couldn’t get any worse…

Oh how lovely, Just when you think things can’t get worse…:banghead:

the devil is loose in the world, roving and patrolling. “it” seems to be finding lot’s of helpers. this is commencing to get really scary.
the envelope is constantly being pushed. where will it end?

I do like that Queer Eye show. They get men to clean up for their wives. That is nice.

I just hope that with the lesbians, they do not show bad stuff. Like with balloon doggies and “coppertopping.”

Lord please tell me this will NOT be available on digital satellite!!

I just saw a news piece last night about a new video game that has the players pose as gang bangers who get points for killing police officers.

NOW THIS!!! Disgusting. 😦

A home with no TV is starting to sound like a much more appealing idea.👍 Sure would miss EWTN though…one of the only saving graces left in the media.

You can still watch EWTN over the Internet. I get my EWTN radio & tv from this site:
ewtn.com/audiovideo/index.asp

Try it, you’ll be surprised!

Most systems you can block the channel (which I plan to do when i find out which one its on) there are a lot of channels I have blocked, but many there are many decent programing. Just got keep a watchful eye.

I don’t know if I’d get rid of cable or satellite because of this network. That seems a bit drastic (other than for boycott purposes, or if the viewer is gay) considering one can block it so easily.

This channel has been in the making for quite a while now, actually. That’s what Viacom’ll give you, unfortunately.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother to have cable when I only watch like 4 or 5 cable channels anyway. Yet I’m still charged for them providing this kind of garbage. If it wasn’t for EWTN, DiscoveryHealth, Hallmark, and the Cartoon Network (yeah, i’m 22, so what? 😃 ) I’d probably get rid of it.

I can see that by the time I have children I may have to.
