TV shows with Comic Book heroes

Comic books have been around for a long time but recent TV shows deserve the attention of parents. Heroes are meant to be larger than life. They can fail in their mission through no fault of their own. They should be morally unambiguous. Now, on TV, they’re not.

Gotham has heroes who are willing to cross a line or two. To make a deal with a villain. The goal? To get to a place where they can do good.

Arrow has done the same thing, but we also add in a bit of immoral sexual situations.

The Flash is pretty good but crossovers with Arrow occur.

So watch a few episodes, especially if your kids watches them or other kids you know mentions them. See what they should be missing out on.

Most of them are pretty violent. My favorite super hero is Daredevil and that show was brutaly violent. By episode 3 I couldnt watch no more.

But right now my daughters and I follow Supergirl, which so far is reasonably decent.

I may try the Flash.
 
Flash is great, and is likely will appeal to Arrow fans with less violence and darkness.

I like Arrow (would never let my kids watch it, even if they were older than five, two, and one), and loved Smallville.

I have never been a fan or morally ambiguous characters, which is why the fascination with George R.R. Martin’s works never made sense to me. I’ve loved fantasy and sci-fi since I was a kid, but I like heroes and villains. I don’t want escape to a world of flawed heroes who just happen to also be rapists.

We need more role models to emulate in all things.

Frankly, I should probably turn it all off in favor of Life is Worth Living reruns. Love me some Venerable Fulton Sheen.
 
As I work at a company that publishes a lot of fiction in the “hero” category, our mission is to not have morally ambiguous heroes. A friend of mine told me some years ago when I asked him about comic books. He said, “I want my heroes to be heroic.” Both of us no longer buy comic books. I also watch a lot of trends regarding fiction in all media on a daily basis as part of my job. Darkness, darkness and more darkness, + violence.

This trend is more biblical than you might think. Note that the “heroes” are usually a result of altered DNA which is what was happening in the days of Noah when the watcher angels fell to earth and created the “giants” or men of renown by messing with DNA. Science is actually now working to create a race of part human drone soldiers. Now remember that Jesus said that “as it was in the days of Noah, so also shall it be when the Son of Man returns.”

I agree. I want my good guys good and my bad guys bad.

Our family favorite is S.H.I.E.L.D. Not exactly superhero but close. My wife likes Arrow. To me, it’s ok not great. The biggest reason to watch is to see him take his shirt off, IMO.

We also like Flash.
 
Well yes it has been around for some time, but my point was that DNA altered humans are just now becoming a reality. A scientific reality that is repeating in a way what the fallen watcher spirits did in the days of Noah.
