Two NBC affiliates throw book at 'Daniel’
KARK-TV in Little Rock, Ark., and WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, Ind., announced Wednesday they would pre-empt “Daniel,” when it premieres Friday at 9 p.m. Both are owned by Nexstar Broadcasting Group.
I don’t know which channel this is going to be on in order to write to my local affiliate. I think it could be Channel 17 or 32 in Toronto.

Anyway, here is a page that lists all the local NBC affiliates in the US.

You have 7th heaven , where smoking is a bigger sin than fornication. So why would some situation comedy about an Episcopal minister shock anyone ?
Th e Episcopal church USA which as we speak is suspended from the world wide Anglican communion. For consecrating an active Homosexual as a bishop.I mean if anyone thinks this show is reality they have a problem.

I am in no way excusing the premise of the show. But I also don’t believe in censorship. You can protest by writing letters (I have done that a lot) and not turning it on in the first place.

For the two TV stations to not run the show is not an act of censorship. It’s their right as broadcasters to not run shows that they feel do not reflect their communities’ social standards.

Myself, I’m not even going to come close to watching this show – not only because it seems quite offensive, but (from what I saw in the network promos) it looks just plain stupid.

There are limits to all freedoms, including the freedom of speech. In this case the limit is that the Catholic Church is being defamed. Her teachings are being misrepresented and ridiculed.

Now to present a balanced examination of her teachings: that would be a different thing.

It’s about an Episcopal Priest. I understand that freedoms have limits. One of the biggest CURSES of our time is Pornography and that SHOULD NOT be protected. I may have stated my position wrongly.

Looks like three more giving the show the axe:
Three More NBC Affiliates Nix 'Daniel’

Three Kansas NBC affiliates have announced they will not be carrying NBC’s "The Book of Daniel.” KSNG in Garden City, KSNC in Great Bend and KSNK in Oberlin have responded to community concern and will not air the program.

They join KNSW-TV in Wichita, Kan., KARK-TV in Little Rock, Ark. and WTWO in Terre Haute, Ind., in refusing to carry NBC’s new series.

I quess there is supposed to be a Catholic priest in the show as well and the priest is portrayed very poorly. Really, the only way to get it off NBC permantly is to just not watch it. If it gets poor ratings then they were more than likey take it off the air.

Exactly!!!

One of my friends who is a priest in Arkansas sent me an e-mail asking if I saw the show and telling me the stations had cancelled it. He said “it was a farce” and to avoid it. I didn’t plan on watching it anyway after I read about it in the newspaper.

I saw the show today, I just had to (the inverse propaganda worked on me), and I agree, it is benign but rather stupid. Bad acting, bad plot. I was not offended by anything at all there, it was just rather mindless.
I am not recommending this show to anyone, not because of its content, but because there is a danger you might fall asleep).

I watched the 2 hour premier of the show. I have a question, has anyone checked on the Primate of the Episcopal church USA ? Is he O.K. ? With his church collapsing around him ,the book of Daniel is sure as hell not what he needs.
The main character an episcoapl minister is clueless. He is the kind of person those kids at Columbine had for parents. One kid is Gay,one sells pot, one is a womenizer, his wife is a drunk. If I was Pat Robertson i;d say his family was a judgement from God on the Episcopal churches aberations.
Seventh Heaven another show about a protestant minister, has the good sense not mention what protestant church the Rev.Camden works for.

The ratings on this will not be out until Monday, but I have a feeling that they will be highter than what they should be just be. The real ratings will be next week.

That is exactly what I did. I fell asleep. It was standard fare I thought. It may have a season run and then get cancelled.

Lookslike two in Texas did not show it either:
’Book of Daniel’ Snubbed by 4 Affiliates Fri Jan 6, 4:17 PM ET

NEW YORK - Two more NBC affiliates chose not to air the network’s new drama “The Book of Daniel,” which features an Episcopal priest with a gay son, the network said Friday.

Four affiliates nationally have rejected the series (set for a two-hour premiere 9 p.m. EST Friday). Conservative Christian groups have campaigned against the series.

If anyone is of a mind to Boycott or express displeasure at a TV show, there is a sit-com on CBS about a family of doctors that is pretty much ****. The sister is portrayed as a blatant lesbian, one son is adulterous and permiscuous as are the parents. I did send a comment to CBs about the show. Obviously my opinion has had zilch impact. The show is so bad morally, I’m surprised no one else has commented.

Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the show. But, the actor that used to portray Fonzie from Happy Days is the father. In my area it is included in the Monday night line-up.
