Two International Gay Associations Denied Membership Status with UN
By Gudrun Schultz

NEW YORK, United States, January 24, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) denied access yesterday to two international homosexual activist organizations seeking consultative status with the Council. Such status would give the organizations access to Council meetings and allow them to distribute material to members.

I think the UN is pretty sure the arab nations would walk if they signed homosexual activist groups up again.

Wait a minute. Doesn’t the “N” in UN refer to “Nations”?

How can “Associations, Groups, Committees”, and that ilk even meet the standards of membership?

I’m not sure, but it seems to me that the UN is awash in NGO’s (Non-governmental organizations) many of which promote things like sex education, condoms, worldwide access to abortion, etc.

I think it is out of recognition that international not-profit organizations do play an important role, independent of national identity.

The advantage of giving NGOs a status at the UN is that it allows for greater cooperation with UN programs.

This seems to be the website for these NGOs affiliated with the UN:
