Okay. Let’s discuss this alleged abuse. Give us an example of an infallible claim that is contracted by scientifi/historical evidence. You understand the implications, right?
Some people on CAF claim (despite what other theologians and Cath Answers apologists think) that Humani Generis is an infallible teaching on a literal Adam & Eve.
Have you read the document?
vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xii_enc_12081950_humani-generis_en.html.
Here is paragraph 37:. When, however, there is question of another conjectural opinion, namely polygenism, the children of the Church by no means enjoy such liberty. For the faithful cannot embrace that opinion which maintains that either after Adam there existed on this earth true men who did not take their origin through natural generation from him as from the first parent of all, or that Adam represents a certain number of first parents. Now it is in no way apparent how such an opinion can be reconciled with that which the sources of revealed truth and the documents of the Teaching Authority of the Church propose with regard to original sin, which proceeds from a sin actually committed by an individual Adam and which, through generation, is passed on to all and is in everyone as his own.
CAn you show that anything the Pope says here is in error?
Quote:
If you can prove that the Church is teaching an untruth, then the Church isn’t from God and there is no one you can believe in terms of salvation.
This is black and white thinking “either everything the Church says is true or nothing it says is true and it is false”
Devout Catholics believe that the church is divinely inspired and that everything it teaches can be trusted. Once you start deciding that some things the church teaches are false, you no longer no what to trust and you begin trusting only yourself. You in essence, become your own pope, just like any Protestant.

The church is built on the extraordinary claim that Jesus rose from the dead. If you use your logic, then that would also be denied.
No, we have good reason to believe that Jesus actually rose from the dead - it is by far the best explanation for the belief of the Apostles and the origin of the Christian faith.
And it has nothing to do with logic, since it is perfectly possible that God could supernaturally raise Jesus from the dead.
And by that same logic, it is perfectly possible for Jesus to have set up his church with a succession of Popes that he protects from making doctrinal errors.

Because often in the papal bulls, they point out all their sources, including scripture, precedents and councils. Papal decisions are never made in a vacuum. The Popes understand far better than you and I how critical it is to get things right and they are VERY careful with that responsibility
.
But sometimes they ignore the majority opinion of the bishops and theologians and do what they want. I would say they do what the spirit directs them to do. The truth is not defined by majority vote. It just is…
