Catholic singer Mark Mallett has a blog that I read regularly. I thought today’s topic was worth sharing:

At a recent event, a young married Pentecostal couple approached me and said, “Because of your writings, we are becoming Catholic.” I was filled with joy as we embraced one another, delighted that this brother and sister in Christ were going to experience His power and life in new and profound ways—particularly through the Sacraments of Confession and the Holy Eucharist.

And so, here are two “no-brainer” reasons why Protestants should become Catholics.

He goes on to spell out the Biblical reasons for Confession and Communion.

This sounds like a two way street (larry to curly & curly to larry), rather than the one way catholic method (joe to priest).

the reasons given there are anything but “no-brainers”.

Good scriptural reasons for confession and communion. I know it is contrary to CC teaching, but we Lutherans have both, also.

From the outside looking in, the two Sacraments of Eucharist and Confession are not an obvious no-brainer to becoming Catholic.

A person who I consider a mentor in my process of becoming Catholic has said more than once, to our RCIA class, and to me, that the Church has nothing to say to someone until they know God’s Love.

Standing here, looking back, I see the truth of that. There is no way I could have understood the profound Love of God found in the Sacraments of the Church, without first knowing God’s Love. Which, that Love is my definition of Faith.
