This is just out of curiosity. But does it matter what incense you use while you pray at home? I figure during Mass there has to be a certain kind used, but can you use whatever you want at home?

Thanks! 😃

Many churches have various kinds of incense that are used such as frankincense, myrhh, rose as well as other brands burnt on charcoal for high liturgical services. (Mass, Vespers, Lauds, Benediction, Exposition, sacramental blessings et cetera). You can use any kind of incense at home for your devotional prayers. It only matters what is pleasant and preferrential in your view as long as it’s burned in His honor. :highprayer:

*Ab illo benedicaris in cujus honore cremaberis.*Be blessed by Him in whose honor thou art burnt.

Psalm 140 (141) 2-4
Let my prayer be directed as incense in thy sight; the lifting up of my hands, as evening sacrifice.
Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth: and a door round about my lips.
Incline not my heart to evil words; to make excuses in sins. With men that work iniquity: and I will not communicate with the choicest of them.

No, it doesn’t really matter, although frankincense and myrrh are certainly the most biblical.

Frankincense seems to be the most popular, as well as the one used the most at Mass. Also, my favorite! Love it!
