Confession “Reconciliation”
A previous poster mentioned the Lev 5,5 section about confessing sins to the priest, but it’s really the whole first half of the book of Leviticus that pre-figures confession.
That is because a man had to take an animal to the Tent of the Meeting and kill it and the priest (mediator) had to make atonement for the sin (and would have to know what sin it was, in the first place)
The whole “picture” foreshadows the Mass, when you think about the tent priest putting consecrated blood and bread on the altar. This is what the Catholic priest does during the Mass, but it is not the blood of an animal, but of the eternal victim and sacrifice, Jesus Christ.
