***A number of campaigns to get American Christians to wear orange in solidarity with persecuted Christians are gradually gathering momentum.

In February, Islamic State (IS) released footage showing the beheadings of 21 Coptic Christians captured in Libya. The group were lined up, wearing the orange jumpsuits which have become a characteristic feature of their brutal videos.

Now, Christians across America are calling on the church to use the colour orange to identify with those who are suffering, to pray for them, and to donate to initiatives which support the persecuted.***

I believe this campaign began at a parish in California by a Catholic priest. I was thinking of buying some orange ribbon to make some kind of pin. So far I have not seen anyone here wear them where I live.

I am going to wear a orange ribbon, but it’s not a good idea. I’m in a muslim country 😦

Please do not wear orange if any way it could be a threat to your life! If you live in a muslim country such as Malaysia, this protest is not for you and you are not called to participate.

The article says the color orange is in regard to the orange suits that the victims wear. Having Irish roots, the color orange kind of creeps me out but I understand why. Not to demean it but just for knowledge here is a list of ribbons.

Yes the Catholic priest chose orange to be in solidarity with the Christians being killed over there such as the 21 Egyptian copts.

I agree. If you live in a Muslim country you are already doing your part. We in the West are not doing enough, and this idea is for us to at least do something.
