Hello
I’m new to Catholic Answer forums, and I joined because I could really use some advice.
I’m training to be a Primary school teacher in the UK, or more specifically an Early Years specialist. (3-7). I really want to work in a Catholic school and most of the resources I’ve found here so far have been designed more for older children making first communion or confirmation. Does anyone know any good websites or books I could use?
Also secondly, and I’d really appreciate some (name removed by moderator)ut from other teachers here if there are any, I’m not sure how one can teach the faith in a Catholic school here. I mean, just to name one example I know a Catholic teacher is expected by the Catholic Education Service to uphold and defend a traditional view on marriage, but at the same time to qualify and retain teacher status you’ve got to demonstrate “British Values”; one of which is support for “diverse different families”, including same sex couples.
That’s just one of many that come to mind, and I do wonder how one can do that without getting QTS struck off or fired.
If anyone can offer some suggestions to one or both of these questions I would be very grateful.
