Women who are less than nine weeks pregnant can safely have medical abortions at home, according to the head of a government-backed pilot project.
Abortion services for the 20,000 women who seek a chemically induced abortion every year could be transformed should the Department of Health’s official evaluation of the pilot confirm initial findings. But it is also likely to provoke controversy from anti-abortion campaigners who will claim that home abortions would make the procedure easier and therefore lead to more women having terminations.

Sure - fully safe except for the additional risk of cancers and mental health disorders. But the medical establishment truly cares about “womens health” enough to cover up known risks about abortion.

On a somewhat related note, the Australian government has just voted to allow the Theraputic Goods Administration to decide whether RU486 should be legal in Australia. Previously this decision was in the hands of the Minister for Health.

Unfortunately for those in favour of abortions and RU486 in particular, the Minister is pro-life and wasn’t approving the drug for use in Australia. So they introduced a bill to Parliament and got his power removed and now the TGA can ‘consider’ the ‘potential’ future legality of the drug.

Gee, I wonder whether they’ll make it legal.

The word is starting to get out about this, but is the MSM is still censoring it. Once it is known by the general populace, I have a feeling there will be a snowball effect that may destroy the abortion industry as we know it.

APA Admits Mental Problems Resulting From Abortion Ignored by Official Position
By Gudrun Schultz

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois, February 16, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The American Psychological Association (APA) has said that the effect of abortion on women’s mental health has no relevance in determining the association’s support for abortion.

In a special LifeSiteNews report from the Elliot Institute, a spokesperson for the APA openly stated that the Association supports abortion as a civil right, and therefore research contradicting claims that abortion improves women’s health would have no effect on the APA’s position, because “to pro-choice advocates, mental health effects are not relevant.”

You know, I heard this on the news last night and thought 'What  '…I know too many women who’ve had serious mental health issues, sometimes YEARS after having an abortion, to think this is a ‘good idea’ 😦

This is an outrage really. Shows me how very little pro-choice advocates really feel about women’s health.
