What does “ultra conservative catholic” mean?

I’m dumbfounded at the obsession with labels. If we were as obsessed with sin and virtue as we are with labeling ourselves and each other, we would be a Church of saints.

Terrorists, criminals, temptation, pornography, contraception, and abortion wither like the proverbial fig tree Matthew 21 and the leaders of nations would stream to the vatican to lay treasure at the feet of the Holy Father.

An unltra conservative is a sinner. A liberal is a sinnner. I am a sinner. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on us all.

Here’s all you need to be really concerned with:

You can call yourself a Catholic BUT-

There are Catholics who follow the practice The Faith completely (or even struggle to, but the effort continues), and then there are Catholics who do not follow it completely because they believe they do not have to.

Both are sinners, but when it comes down to identifying one’s self as a Catholic, be mindful of what you do or don’t practice.

A ridiculous label. It probably means that he supports the right-wing political agenda.

The opposite to Liberal politics is Conservative politics.

The opposite to a Liberal (heterodox, modernist, or ‘Cafeteria Catholic’) Catholic is commonly known as a traditionalist.

This is not meaning that non-traditionalists are in any way less orthodox, it’s just guaranteed that the percentage of traditionalists who follow Church teaching would be much higher than the percentage of ‘mainstream’ Catholics who follow Church teaching these days.

Yes, and Religiously or Politically? The Church always recommends Moderation, not extremism, except in Following Essential Christ and Church. Big words need Definition, Placement :manvspc:🤓:getholy:

Traditionalist was recently used as Radical: Denying Vatican II legitimacy and anything Post Pope Pius XII. They felt Pope Bendict was not really Pope. Proper Terminolgy was/is Traditional, not TraditionalIST.

Fr Groeschell said wiselly that Liberal and Conservative are really Political, not Religious terms, explained them. (Politics and Catholic Church don’t Mix, Especially Anti-Social Concern Radical Right: Current GOP Candidates and Tea Party

I really think that is just a generalization. There is certainly more traditionalists who accept Vatican II than there are who don’t. Sedevacantists are a small minority, they just make the most noise.

Universal Video Humor from the Universal Church devotees. CAF Leadership and Pope Bendict each believe Humor is a great Teacher. Hi, Aussies!. Even Aussies agree here! 🍿:yyeess:🎉

Sedavancist is the new indiscribable/ununderstandable Name. Advancing Terminologization, as it were.:hmmm: The Former was THE Group Designation, which included a Bishop.

We have these discussions all the time between the label naysayers and those who label. We can say labeling is not good, but it is not being honest to say there are only Catholics who are practicing and those who are not.

I am not sure what an ultraconservative Catholic is but there certainly is an animal called a Traditionalist Catholic.

Traditionalist or Traditional (I have heard them used interchangeably), tend to attend the EF and follow pre-Vatican II norms in practice and discipline, when possible, outside of the mass. It doesn’t mean they don’t accept VII, but most have an issue with the “Spirit of Vatican II”.

That’s just the truth, like it or not.

Well, I asked this question since SVT (Sveriges Television) broadcasted a progam about SSPX. In this program they called SSPX “ultra conservative”. youtube.com/watch?v=av1uKMJ8X9w
I am now trying to understand traditional Catholics. I know that traditional Catholics want the Church to rule the world so how then can they be “ultra-right” in their politics?

What does “ultra conservative catholic” mean?
It means whatever the person saying it means. There is no objective definition, which is why it is yet another on the list of terms to avoid.
