I am not sure that it’s so litteral, but from the Psalm 150, it’s clear that you can honour the Lord God through musical instruments. So did the Israelites in the Temple in King David’s days and after, didn’t they?

That “Bible” quote is from The Message Bible, which is notoriously and ridiculously “creative” in its translation. Laughably so, IMO.

A lute is a little different from an electric guitar though. Its the whole attitude and twisting it to fit their style.

I am stuck somewhere between Bach and 19th Century Romanticism, musically speaking.
I sing in my independent baptist church choir and I must say that the music we sing is becoming more gaudy as time goes on.
The accompaniment tracks are typically flamboyant with sensational “orchestrations” and often I feel out of place. I think it is tacky and showy.
The piano and organ are marginalized and eventually will be taboo while guitars and drums will be mainstream.
