I have heard that the Vatican’s permanant observer in the UN has been successful on many occasions in thwarting UN proposals that would have had devastating effects, and these behind the scenes victories never make it into the news.

I have also heard that some leading protestant leaders have privately admitted that if these forces should ever crush the Catholic Church, their small denominations would not stand a chance.

Who can give good examples of these please?
