Yes…I’ve heard this before. But it is terrifying and when you explain the black clous like element I would be interested to hear that is explained as well. This is a common phenomenon related to dreaming. When we enter the REM (rapid eye movement) sleep wherein we dream, our muscles are effectively paralyzed so that we will not thrash about in our dreams and hurt ourselves. This normal state is called hypotonia. We can see this in dreams wherein we want to run away from some danger but cannot seem to lift our feet. That is because we are in the paralyzed state. When people become partially awake while in this paralyzed state, it can be terrifying.
Paul
Paul you seem like the biggest skeptic I’ve met in a while…you seem to doubt that their is a real spiritual battle taking place. You seem like a regular doubting Thomas with the way you look to explaining every spiritual bazaar aspect of our human existence…like the flood and creation … Granted you have a choice what to believe. But pushing your agenda could cause people to stumble and doubt even the existence of GOd. Is that what you are pushing for secretly? Its people like you constantly trying to convince others to NOT believe in the spiritual that cause others to stumble in their faith. I was one of those, but many years ago I realize that folks like you are merely …can’t say the words because it would be offensive… My soldier blood coming out again. You need to back off a little and believe what you believe, but stop trying to FORCE your beliefs on everyone…
I wouldn’t doubt it if you were the type that is skeptical that the crucifiction ever really happened or that the real presence of Christ is present in the Eucharist or absolution of sins is real… what other human doubts do you possess that you have been holding back and that by the way go against the teachings of the Catholic Church?
Admittedly you could be correct on this phenoma…but that’s not my point. You have been showing that you are the kind of person that when people enounter they tend to crawl back into their shells. Some end up almost broken in pain because they feel they have no one to talk to about these things. You are entitled to your beleifs and I don’t force this on people either. But some of us that have experienced them have experienced more than just the phenomina. Could it be that Satan or his demons have utilized a natural body function for inducing fear? But then again you may be one of those Chrisitians that really do not believe in Satan. Oh well. Good luck with that. I’m praying for you.
