If one can logically deduct that Jesus existed, believes what is in the bible; miracles, angels, etc., why is there difficulty for many in believing other Catholic (T)raditions which aren’t specifically mentioned?

If Jesus can rise from the dead, why can’t Mary be without sin? What is the hold-back in believing the Holy Spirit guides the Church in developing doctrines and defining the mystery of transubstantiation? The plausibility of purgatory, the trinity, and other dividing issues sadden me that we can’t all see the same and be united. Why do people draw their own lines in the sand where their beliefs seem to fall short of the universal Church?

For me personally, I may not understand or comprehend something, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. Moreso, it may just mean I need to study and continue striving to become closer with God, which is why I’m on Catholic Answers. Since I am human and God is in another dimension, I will probably never fully “get it” and therefore it is Unfathomable, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true nor should I stop trying. Are the Catholic Church’s claims that untrustworthy? Is it difficult to put one’s trust in a religion while continuing to keep their own head? I by no means am perfect or a saint; nor do I claim to be. Please help me fathom the hold-backs of the full-faith for our non-Catholic, Christian brothers and sisters.

Thank you.

Faith is a gift. It is easy for you and I to believe because we have it. But there are many who don’t, whose hearts are not open to this gift. Some people find God and convert at some point in their lives, others never do. Pray for the unbelievers, that the Holy Spirit may move them to the truth.
