Scripture (particularly the New Testament) was written to the “churches”. These “churches” did not have significant divisions. They had the issues of division, but Scripture even addresses some and condemns them.
After the persecution on “the Church” lifted, the Church was able to Confirm and practice some major things. One being a “fixed” canon of Scripture. This was done while the Church was united, right? The Church was Catholic, right?
To me, it seems very significant that the Scriptures were “fixed” into a “Universal Book” by the “Universal Church”. This “Universal Church” kept virtually all of the doctrines which the Catholic Church does today. It’s kinda like, the more you believe in one “Universal Book” the more you believe in one “Universal Church”.
I’d call this book the Church’s! … AND that it is for all!
