In the book, “we believe” they claim that the book of Daniel is named for the hero and not the author. They say the author is unknown. My question is how can we know the Book of Daniel is inspired by God if we do not even know the author who was given the encouragement by God to write the book?

There are many books in both the OT and NT where we don’t know or are not sure of the author.

Basically, we know the Book of Daniel is inspired by God because the Magesterium of the Catholic Church has declared it to be.

The book of Daniel is relatively late in the Jewish literature. Although the character mentioned is Nebuchanezzar, it is likely the real target was Antiochus IV Epiphanes. But getting to your question, we dont know who the human author of most of the books of the bible is. We are still arguing about who wrote books from the Pauline tradition, such as Ephesians, and Colossians.
The important thing is that we know who the Divine author it, the Holy Spirit.
