Hey there everyone!! Whoever recommended Scott and Kimberly Hahn’s book, “Rome Sweet Home”, Thank you soooo much!!! I am not all the way through it but it is soo wonderful!! I just got done reading the part where they discuss contraception. This was another area where I was stuggling, but not anymore! I love the idea that a marital act is like the Lord’s covenant with us. It gave me chills to read it, I’m not kidding!!! I can’t wait to finish the rest of this book!!! IF there are any other bits of research that anyone can suggest as I research my possible conversion to Catholicism, that would be great! Thanks and God Bless!!

Katie,

It is so wonderful to hear that you are enjoying the book so much.👍

I have thought about giving it to my brother. I would love to see him convert. He is a well educated fundy, but he just a read the book by a religous brother. :clapping:

Back to your post, the NFP and understanding how God is sharing in our conjugal unions is just so awesome. Our Holy Father has developed a huge teaching on this called the Theology of the Body. You will be even more thrilled when you learn more.

Best wishes on your journey, I am a very happy convert. I joined the Church in the spring of 1986.

I love that book. I gave my copy away; now need to get another one so I can read it again!

The book really blessed me too…it was the first of the Hahn books I read and I have given it to several people who have displayed an interest in the Faith…I’m a convert of 41 years at the end of this month!
Crossing the Tiber by Steve Ray is also another great book for someone seeking possible conversion to the Faith. Blessings, Annunciata:)

I just joined the Church this past Easter. One website that was instrumental in my conversion is Dave Armstrong’s rather thorough site: biblicalcatholic.com . Check it out if you want to do a lot of reading. . .

Another thing to read is some of the official documents of the Church: council documents, the Catechism, etc. I found all those things to be an inspiration in my faith.

Scott Hahn has written several books, try reading “The Lamb’s Supper” and “Hail Holy Queen” …about the Mass/Revelation and Mary.

Also you can go to catholicity.com and order free tapes from various Catholics (Scott Hahn, Fr Larry Richards, Fr Corapi, Christopher West, Patrick Madrid, Marcus Grodi etc etC).

My husband and I “read” Rome Sweet Home on audiotape during a long drive in the car. I recommend the tapes for anyone who has a lengthy commute.

There were three books that made a big difference in pushing me to convert.

Rome Sweet Home was one of them (as was Scott Hahn’s conversion story on tape).

By What Authority by Mark Shea really did the trick on me convincing me that Jesus indeed started a Church and that it was Catholic. (allbookstores.com/book/compare/0879738510)

Surprised By Truth I. There are two additional volumes, but this one contains 11 conversion stories of all types. It took about a month for this one to finally sink in. (allbookstores.com/book/compare/0964261081)

Grace and Peace\

Keith
