UPDATE on our missing cat

My DD was being treated by a psychologist whose kitty had not one, but two teenage pregnancies

Sabre’ll need a long appointment in the confessional - he’s into more than polygamy, for sure

He might be afraid to come home because he knows he’ll have a lot of 'splainin to do.

In all seriousness…do any of you think our kitty might be dead? I don’t want to sound grim, but there have been NO sightings since last Thursday. And someone then, saw him dashing into the woods…our woods are really thick and creepy.

No - I don’t think he is dead. I think the woods provide plenty of food and nooks to hide. Cats are smart - think positive.

I can’t say that he isn’t, but I just know how Tomcats are. They will leave for a very long time. It is their nature. You may want to contact the local animal shelter and make sure they haven’t picked him up.

I’m sorry, just trying to cheer ya up. He’ll be ok in the woods. Cats are usually predators and not prey.

What is thick and creepy to adult humans is challenging, exciting and full of hidey-holes to a tom cat on the loose. I would not say that Sabre in the woods since Thursday = Sabre now a dead kitty. He will be finding many interesting new things in the woods and you did say there’s at least one fertile lady cat there?

Of course the longer he is gone the more one thinks of dead kitty, but maybe he’s just determined to have as much fun as possible before he comes back.

Remember cats do things on their own terms. One of our sweetest, gentlest lady cats would lie under a bush, watching us, while we called and called with increasing anxiety; sometime she’d wander out with an “are you looking for me?” look on her face, at others she’d just stay there till one of us found her!

Don’t give up on Sabre, make friends with Coco and think how surprised he will be when he comes home and finds you have a friend there for him.

Ok, Vivienne…I won’t give up hope yet. You’re right…I guess what I deem scary and creepy, a cat finds curious and intriguing–WEIRD! LOL

I went out looking again for Saber…met more neighbors. They are all so kind, I can’t even believe it. Not that I can’t believe I have nice neighbors, but it’s amazing that so many want to help like this…I live next door to tons of cat and dog lovers…maybe God chose this neighborhood for us for that very reason!

Anyways…I left the decision up to my dh about allowing Coco in, and he said let’s get him a flea collar, and a gate to barricade him to downstairs only…I probably will take him to the vet next week.

This cat is so sweet, but he’s not my Saber. DD has really taken to him, and he to her. I just feel badly that I am not as excited as her over him. Well, this kitty needs love, too…

Well…our ‘new’ kitty was sitting on our porch this morning, and he followed me out to my car, and sat there and waved goodbye as I drove away to work. Well, he didn’t wave, but close! This cat is more loyal than our old kitty. lol

We’re going to clean him up, and take him to the vet, and keep him. If Saber comes back, we’ll deal with it.

Oh oh…a neighbor saw what seems to be Saber on Sunday night, but for some reason, none of us in my family ever spot him.

It seems that, not only is Sabre having tom-cat fun, but he’s also playing my-family-can’t-see-me

That’s the thing with cats, you play the games by their rules and they don’t tell you what the rules are either
