I was wondering, what is the most current and updated version of the Roman Ritual or Rite of the Catholic Church by the Vatican to date?

There are many ‘rites’ in the Church.

Are you, by chance, asking about one of them – the ‘Mass’? If so, then that rite is contained in the “Roman Missal”. Its current version is the “Editio Typica Tertia” (‘third typical edition’), which was issued by Pope John Paul II at the turn of the century. (Pope Benedict issued an ‘emended’ version with some slight modifications). This version was translated into English and this translation has been in use in the U.S. since 2011.

In addition, in 2007, Pope Benedict made it clear that an earlier version of the Missal (the “1962 Missal”) was still valid for use in the Church.

Hope this helps…

I’m talking about the Roman Ritual, which is like the book of sacraments, ordination, etc. It is for how to administer sacraments. Not the Roman Missal. I’m looking for it for baptism.

The old 3 volume Rituale Romanum was replaced after Vatican II. Baptism is now in “The Rites” volume 1. To the best of my knowledge the current edition is the “revised edition” from 1990.

This has nothing to do with what the poster has quite clearly requested.

Could you share the answer with us Father?
May God bless you and all who visit our thread.
Amen.

Indeed. The Roman Ritual has been revised since its last publication as such at the time of the Council.

The Rites, existing in two volumes, would be what you are seeking relative to baptism…specifically volume 1 for both infant and adult baptism.

Beyond these two volumes regarding the sacraments as well as such things as the blessing of abbots and abbesses, the rite of religious profession, installation to stable ministries, and so forth, there was De benedictionibus, also published in 1990 and De exorcismis et supplicationibus quibusdam, published in 1999. Taken collectively, these are the update of the Rituale Romanum

🤷

Having not asked “where can I find the ritual for baptism?”, I thought that the OP might have been trying to ask for the current ritual for the Novus Ordo, but called it by a different name. No harm, no foul.

In any case, as you point out, this is the book the OP is asking about.

Often, you’ll be able to find it in Catholic bookstores. Sadly, there’s no free preview on Google Books…
