Urgent question: Am I dispensed from going to mass?

Let me please apologise upfront if my post sounds childish or stupid or like I am asking for attention.

I am in what you could call a psychiatric retreat where there is no “religion” if that makes sense. I am guaranteed my place in university until I get better, but am I dispensed from going to mass?

My sister is away from home studying and doesn’t want to go to mass or have anything to do with me; but I don’t blame her because she is younger than me.

My parents are not keen on going to mass because they are embarrassed because of me.

Is this a valid “excuse” for not attending mass? How could I possibly force my parents to attend?

Talk to your priest. Nobody here can answer this for you.

I want to say that you have a valid reason (medical care) for not going to Mass, but not knowing the circumstances, I cannot say. It’s not clear entirely what your situation is.
