URGENT NEED FROM SHIELD OF ROSES

Hello, everyone!

I’ve been speaking to an unmarried woman in her mid-30s, in her fourth month with a Downs Syndrome Baby. She has an aborton scheduled.

She has relented, and given us a few days to see if there is a family out there who wants to adopt her special-needs baby. Her family is totally against the abortion, and wants her to adopt the baby out. Mom was very insistent on going ahead with the abortion, so this respite of a few days buys us time.

Do you know of anyone right now ready to adopt a special-needs baby? It is probably better if they have gotten their home study or are in the process. We need to have this woman speak to people who can take action now and convince her that her baby is wanted. If you don’t know of any families, pls keep us all in prayer. I thank God we’ve been given this time to help her.

Thank you all.

Geri

I don’t know if this is a scam or not, and am not currently in the adoption process, but my dh and I are open to adopting a special needs child and would gladly take this child into our home, please let us know if this woman needs to speak with us, feel free to e-mail me privately.

Praying…

I noticed this was posted two days ago. Have you heard from that person about what has happened? I don’t know what is required of a couple to be able to adopt in these situations, and I haven’t spoken to my husband about it, but I know I would love to adopt any child to spare him/her from abortion.

I, too, would gladly adopt this child. I have friends with special-needs children so we would have a support system. Please feel free to private message me or e-mail me if they are interested in talking. Sue

I heard a similar story here locally from my Grandmother. The mom-to-be never showed for her appointment. Thank God!!!

The baby and the mother are in our prayers.

Just fired off an email, been busy moving. Will be in touch!!!

Thx for eveyone that responded!!!

I just PM’ed ya’ll with the ladies email addy. (Actually, her email is in my original post) Please email her…maybe with all of us showing support, we can help this child. Thx.

These posts should be sent to Planned Parenthood as proof that every child IS a wanted child. God bless all of your generous hearts!

Debbie

I will pray because I am in no position to adopt. But you can go to urbans and legends its a great site for alot of the hoaxes that come around. Missing child etc… and oh those free coupons… those fake virus emails great site when your looking for the truth about these things.

Was literally sent to me from Brian K. O’Neel
Press Secretary
Office of California State Assemblyman Tim Leslie (R-04)

The lady requesting help is said to be from:

Geri Urrutia at Shield of Roses in the Los Angeles area

Seems legit to me. Also, I requested a read receipt. She…or someone there read the email. just gotta pray something happens.

About sites that check out hoaxes and “urban legends,” perhaps the site that you’re talking about here is this one that I use myself every time I hear something that just may not be true:

snopes.com/

Unless, of course, you mean this site for checking out hoaxes and urban legends?

urbanlegends.about.com

or maybe this one?

hoaxbusters.ciac.org/

or even this one…?

symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html

In emailing her, it might be useful to include the following information:

A 1986 report in the New England Journal of Medicine found that from amniocentesis, false positive and false negative results varied from 4 percent to 17.5 percent. Since statistics show that nine out of ten babies diagnosed with Down syndrome are aborted, the numbers of perfectly healthy babies being aborted are incredibly high. Conservatively, at least one of these nine who abort would have delivered a healthy child.

By four months gestation, the unborn child has brain waves, a beating heart, sexual differentiation, buds for all 20 teeth, vocal cords, and an active digestive system. Kidneys begin functioning, with urine gradually seeping into amniotic fluid. Hands and feet are well-formed, and the baby can thrust out arms and legs in movements readily perceived by the mother.

I received an answer from the address you gave. I will post a portion of it here:

Hi, I’ve been overwhelmed with love and hope for our special baby.

I’ve given the pregnant mom some phone numbers of agencies and others interested. She is in mid 30s and black. She is even overwhelmed with all the response. She thought no one would want a downs syndrome baby.
I’ve sent a response back to her. There is hope. Keep praying.

I am overwhelmed with emotions and began praying immediately about this Mom and her baby. Please keep us up to date. We were not thinking of adopting right now, but would have to talk to husband about the possibility. My prayers are with all who are helping the Mom.

Still praying, I e-mailed the address you gave when I first read this and haven’t heard anything, I am taking that to mean that there has been a good response, I pray the mom knows how wanted her baby is, and how God will help her through this.

She did not return my meail either, but I put a read receipt on the msg…it was read by someone. Will get hold of Brian tomorrow and find out whats what.
