MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - U.S. Border Patrol agents have come under fire twice along the Rio Grande in Texas in recent days amid rising tension on the frontier with Mexico, although no one was reported wounded, U.S. authorities said on Thursday.

A Border Patrol spokesman said unknown gunmen fired on agents on patrol in Brownsville, Texas, late on Wednesday. It was not immediately clear if the shots came from Mexico or from within the United States.

I presume President Fox believes the best solution is to remove the U.S. agents from the border area. 😉

This is a situation waiting to explode. At what point will the powers that be in Washington admit they have a problem here and do something about. I am all for welcoming people into our country, I am a first generation American on one side and not far from that on the other. But those ancestors came legally, not speaking English (except the Irish ones) and they made their own way. We have laws in this country and if we are not going to inforce them, why have them?

I hope two christian countries don´t go to the war, it would be unfair.
Now, more seriously, it´s necessary fighting against ilegal immigration and the development of Mexico.

They,(the politicians) have had many years to take care of this huge problem, but both parties have declined to do so, for the fear of the PC police, and the Latino vote. It has now gotten out of hand, and is far past the point of doing anything about it. This country and its leadership is so stupid in so many ways. Eventually, it will lead to the end of this country as we know it.

An American law enforcement officer and news crew in Texas have witnessed another armed incursion into the United States by men dressed in Mexican army attire, the second such incident in just two weeks.

As before, several men dressed in Mexican military garb appeared to violate the international boundary, in Hudspeth County, Texas, some 50 miles east of El Paso, local affiliate KFOX-TV reported today. There, the U.S.-Mexico border is separated only by a shallow stretch of Rio Grande River.

We need a rapid response team in the area now. Maybe some captures will make a difference.
