Isn’t this in direct conflict with the ban on the use of this pill by Rome? And if so how can a Bishop or Bishops go directly against the teachings?

This is really distressing.

In the article:
Famed Catholic moral theologian Msgr. William Smith, who teaches at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie, New York, concurs. “It’s wrong to say, you can use anything that has abortifacient properties. Emergency contraception is double talk … it’s what I call ‘verbal engineering’. Catholic hospitals are not free to prescribe or provide anything with abortifacient properties without contradicting their witness.”
We are under the Bishop’s authority, yet they are allowing something that will cause abortions. This is problematic to say the least. It would be better to shut down all Catholic hospitals and cause untold physical suffering than to lose one soul to eternal separation from God.

If someone digs up something more I sure would like to read it.

Which particular souls do you mean? It’s a bit unclear.

IMHO The souls of all involved are in danger. From the fetus to those that allowed the meds to be available in Catholic Hospitals(clergy, lawmakers, pro-choice voters etc).

I think it was St. John Chrysostom who said, “The road to hell is paved with the skulls of bishops”. It would seem so.

It seems to me that everyone should be emailing these two Bishops to let them know how wrong they are.
