Ok, I’ve got to spew several years worth of meditation into one short post! I know I’m crazy, but I can’t help it!

:)😃😛

OK, there is Christ who is the Logos, the very Word of God Incarnate, and the Word spoken of in the prophets has become flesh. And that flesh has wrought redemption for us and chosen to mediate it to us through visible signs that both teach deep spiritual truths and also mediate the grace to live them. and there are seven, and only seven, of these great mysteries, which are the Sacraments. Hence, Christ has seven eyes, because He has and gives the fullness of Spiritual vision, to see the unseen and uncomprehended mysteries of Love that are intrinsically embedded in the Trinity and Incarnation. And so also Christ the Lamb has seven horns, for just as the seven sacraments teach and signify the truths of God, so they provide the grace, the “power” (horns) to live the truths they signify.

Now consider this, the false prophet, the second beast has two horns, like a Lamb, but it speaks as a dragon! So then is this not the embodiment the FALSE logos, the utter antithesis to the True Logos, which is Christ. and what is the false word except that which is spoken at the foundation of history in the garden by the serpent. In a moment, I will digress on the two primary lies that are uttered by that vile father of lies.

But for now, also consider this: in the seven sacraments are contained the ineffable mystery of salvation, of what it means to love and give and receive in love, to offer oneself up in sacrifice. But ,when the body of Christ is torn through the rift of heresy, which, when seriously involving an attack on the Eucharist, there is a very rift in the Sacramental life, for when they fall into heresy, the separating community suffers the loss of five sacraments, retaining only** two**, Baptism and Marriage. which then appropriately suggests that two, on one level, can become a symbol of heresy. (Remember my ideas about the five loaves and two fish! http://forums.catholic-convert.com/images/smiles/icon_mrgreen.gif)

So then before applying this, let us consider the goodness that is veiled in these two remaining sacraments, a goodness that Christ graciously leaves even for his partially separated children. For consider that baptism is the gateway into salvation because it makes us a child of God. For does not baptism heal the first and foremost sin, the root of all other sins, the sin of pride. For prior to justification, a soul is in rebellion against God, it does not possess the supernatural life of God within. The unjustified soul’s primary darkness IS pride, for he is his own god. But baptism restores us to being children of the Father, where our pride is killed and we come to acquire meek humility, knowing, believing and acting on the truth that everything we are and have is a gift from God, that we need Him as our Ultimate Father, His truth to guide our paths, His grace and love to strengthen us.

And consider also, the other sacrament had by heretics, Marriage, which we know is one of the greatest and primary imageries of Divine Revelation. Behold, the Scriptures and history begin with a marriage and end with one. For we know that marriage is ultimately pointing to the greatest reality, which is to be in union with the one true God and to behold and partake of the Infinite love and Truth of the Triune God forever and ever. For as JPII boldly taught in love, our desire to be in union with a person of the opposite sex is but a foreshadowing of our ultimate longing to be with God. And marriage points as a sign of what all of us are called to have: to be in union, both in intellect and will, with the Divine. To know as we are known, to understand as we are understood, and to receive from and offer life and love back to God endlessly.

And these great realities, on the one hand to be child of the Father, and on the other to be the spouse of Christ, will never end, they will remain forever, if only we persevere, just as with faith hope and love, what remains in the end is but love.

But here is what I see: does not the lie of sin and of the dragon from the beginning constitute a diabolical twisting and plagiarizing of these beautiful realities, even as JPII taught that the devil takes what is good and beautiful, what signifies deep penetrating love, total gift of self and sacrifice, and pervert into its evil counterpart. So then, of these great realities, the childhood of God, and deep unfathomable union with God in intellect and will, does not the devil make total antithesis, so that even what goodness is retained by heretics is destructively perverted into the ultimate heresy, the total denial of everything in the true Logos. For just as “heresy” means to “take”, does not the heretic take what he wants, and leaves the rest, instead of receiving with gratitude and love. So then the ultimate false logos will take nothing of truth and goodness and take only lies and superficialities.

…( continued next post)

…(continued from above)

For just as baptism marks us as children of God, of the Father, so the lie of the fall in the beginning is to reinstate pride, to make us a child of the devil, to TOTALLY deny one’s dependence on God for the enlightening of one’s intellect with truth and the nourishment of his will with grace, believing oneself to be his own god, determining truth for himself independent of any of the sources of Divine truth.

And for just as marriage seeks to lead us into ultimate fulfillment in the possession of infinite Love, Beauty and Truth forever, so the twisting of this is fornication (both literal and spiritual). So that in **fornication, contraception, and abortion (both literal and spiritual), **one is seeking not deep intimate union with Love and Truth but superficial fleeting pleasures and vanities, blocking the fruitfulness of love and depth that God wishes to give in exchange for selfish “taking” for oneself.

So, again, it is as if the dragon, in the lie in the fall and throughout salvation history speaks these two primary lies, the False Logos, the total antithesis of the true Logos, the ultimate “heresy”.

And these correspond with the dragon in Genesis, the two great lies spoken:

I. “You will surely not die, God is lying”

and

II. “You will be like gods, knowing good and evil”

In the first epochal deception the devil calls God a liar, saying that he is not the truth, and that there are NOT consequences for refusing to believe Him (killing the intellect) and acting on the lie (killing the will).

In the second epochal deception, the lie it is taken further: not only are there no consequences for sin (in both intellect and will), but, in fact, “you are your own gods”: You, as man, independent of God, determine the truth (Intellect), and you, independent of God, can make your own happiness, find your ultimate fulfillment, and prosper without God’s help (Will).

So then the two horns of the false prophet could be the ANTI-Sacraments of the false Logos, the ultimate heresy, the self same lie uttered by the dragon in the beginning, and in all ages where sin has prevailed.

Well, I think I’ve spouted enough.

thanks if you’ve read this far! 😃
