Luke 14:33 “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”

Luke 12:33-34 “[33] Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
[34] For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

John 6:27 “Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.”

Matthew 6:24 “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

Jesus definitely says here to sell all we have and give the money we make from it to the poor. He says not to work for money, that we cannot serve God and money, and that we cannot be his disciple if we don’t forsake all we have. I would like to add that it is necessary for us to be his disciple, as disciple and Christian seem to be the same thing according to Acts 11:26

Acts 11:26 “And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”

He also said that we should pay Caesar what is due to Caesar. That implied that He thought we should pay taxes and levies etc. Which implies that He knew that we should work and be productive and earn wages etc etc.

In using the word labour as in wasting your time labouring for money rather than to learn about God and striving for salvation He was suggesting that we put our real efforts into those things and not in the gain of material wealth and what it can buy.

It also isn’t possible for every Christian to live freely simply by begging and sleeping under the stars. Most land is also owned and,so we can’t simply pick a nice spot and build a temporary hut or the like.

The key really is to be indifferent to the material world and focus on spiritual development and fidelity to God.
