I was just reading that the head auditor (not sure of exact title) has resigned, supposedly under pressure. And apparently his office was bugged - accusations flying back & forth between him and memb ers of the Curia, etc. To me this is another example of why Pope Francis is right in trying to decentralize the Church - although I don’t think he has any intentions of going far enough. What reason is there to believe that the Roman Curia and bureacracy is capable of real reform?

Just reading about the resignation and issues around it.
Is reform possible? We hope and pray.
Will all persons even those in trusted or elevated positions remain free from controversy or human weakness? There is no guarantee of that in this life. There never was considering history.
There are good people, and there are people who were considered worthy of office, but who may subsequently lose their way.
Nevertheless the Holy Spirit will guide and protect Christ’s Church till the end of time, regardless of how many persons fall away or succumb to temptation…or who are unjustly maligned and must withdraw.

We only know that in faith and doctrine we have Jesus’ absolute promise,
“And I say also to you, That you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18
