Dear friends

The greatest vehicle for evil in todays society is Secularism?

Do you agree or disagree? What are your comments on this?

I believe Secularism to be the tidal wave sweeping our nations that encourage peoples to reject the proclaimed truth of Christ Jesus, to seek out divorces, to abort babies, to live according to no rule but that of the the land that does not always provide for morality. Secularism demands the removal of faith symbols and practices from our society. I firmly believe that all the faiths of the world, Jew, Christian, Catholic, Muslim etc, must be united against Secularism.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

I think secularism is a Mack truck for evil. Without God and His guidance we cannot discover Truth.

yes, secularism breeds indifferentism/atheism/hedonism… etc

I think relativism takes top billing. It takes universal truth and destorts it into individual truth. From their people make up their own minds as to how to behave and act.

Secularism is only one vehicle (although the main one) of the evil that is the Culture of Perversion. The basis for alll this is the moral relativism that permeates the world today.PF

Hmmmm…the greatest vehicle for evil in today’s society…
I’d go with any model of the Hummer.

Gas-guzzling and downright ugly automotive monstrosities.

I’d have to vote for the good ol’ fashioned selfishness. It’s that aspect of our oh-so-human nature that drives us to seek out secularism, relativism, multi-culturalism and any other -isms that allow us to rationalize self-gratification.

Hmmm.

I love questions like these - I recall a movie where Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable were sitting around (originally one of the intentions of the Roundtable - philosophical discussion). Arthur posed the question:

"What do you think the greatest sin of all is?

Most of the Knights replied, “Murder. The taking of another’s life is the most gravest of sins.”

When the wise, worldly, and venerable Merlin was asked, he replied, “Lying. I think everytime somebody lies, a little bit of the world dies.” Lies often live on for years, decades, centuries. Our lives are short in comparison.

I agree with the mythical Merlin - any vehicle that spreads lies and deceit.

Unfortunately, and this may be cynical, the vehicle is found within all of us, not any one philosophy like secularism, paganism, or modernism which we like to villify - good and bad is to be found in all of those philosophies. The Church recently suffered greatly when lies and deceit were uncovered within it - the damage to the world (a little bit of it died) we are still dealing with.

But I remain faithful that life can be restored to it. God and the human spirit are resilient.

I’ll vote for relativism. It’s the root of the acceptance of harmful ideologies in the name of ‘tolerance.’

I would vote for religion being the greastest vehicle for evil.

I got an email on Thursday (names hidden)

XXX, I know what you mean about XXXX and XXXX. They made you feel dirty?!!

They made me begin to doubt my faith. How could people with such mean spirited, hateful outlooks actually claim to follow the same faith as me??? Had I been duped? Was christianity really about evil, intolerance and bigotry, when all the time I’d thought it was the opposite.

I say look amongst yourselves.

Christ told us to give to Cesar what is Cesars’.

In this way he separated the world of God from our political world.

Our concept of the separation of church and state comes directly from Christianity.

Man kind benefits most from this understanding. It helps us separate the truth of God from the truth of this world.
