Another thought on rebellious teens: Some rebellion is normal, and is totally unrelated to any Faith. It is part of establishing one’s own identity, way of doing things and testing boundaries. That said, a consistent upbringing helps temper how that rebellion occurs.
Regardless of the Faith in which a child is raised, if they experience hypocracy at home the chances of outlandish rebellion are greater. If from infancy and toddler-hood they learn nothing of simple boundaries, the meanings of NO, Thank-you, Please, and basic self-respect and respect of others there will be outrageous expressions of rebellion.
The best teacher is example, not empty words, debates on the Faith or even going to Church. What good is it if a child goes to church with mom and dad, and then when they leave they witness one or both parents driving like fools, cursing at others, lying or stealing and even cheating on each other.=? Just what have they learned?
