Virtual Rosary Rally against Coronavirus, live streamed at 8 pm Eastern time each evening, to continue indefinitely

I made a new thread on this ongoing rosary rally, since my previous thread had a title saying the rally would end March 25 and that’s now been changed.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is continuing to host a virtual Rosary at 8 PM (Eastern Daylight Time, same time as New York) each evening to petition the Blessed Mother as intercessor to Her Son to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. This Rosary rally was originally scheduled to be for vocations and end on March 25, but due to the pandemic hitting here, they made it against Coronavirus, and will be continuing it “until we don’t have to do it any more” according to the diocesan organizers.

The Rosary will be hosted via the online meeting platform Zoom, which allows participants to join in using their computer, mobile device or telephone. The prayer meeting can be found at zoom.us/j/494480541. Participants are asked to click on the link at least five to 10 minutes prior to the rosary to allow any software downloads required by their devices.

Those joining by telephone can dial 646-558-8656 and enter the webinar identification number 494 480 541 when prompted.

Please feel free to join, even if you’re not from Philadelphia (lots of people from other states are joining as well), to ask Our Lady to bring an end to this pandemic. You can also get the Plenary Indulgence for saying this Rosary; they say the prayers for the Holy Father’s intentions at the end, so you just have to meet the other conditions described in the Decree of the Apostolic Penitentiary.

Tonight’s Rosary will start in 10 minutes at 8 pm ET.

Shows “leaving facebook” then “cannot open link”. Sure hope not. I don’t even have facebook.

Editing my post…
I looked at the Zoom link because I had just copied the text, including the link (which automatically copies to this forum) over from the Archdiocese’s social media post about the Rosary Rally. I think the problem is that when links get posted to Facebook, as the Archdiocese did here, Facebook adds a bunch of extraneous junk to the link. The link will continue to work fine if you’re a Facebook user and are logged in, which I almost always am, but it might not work if someone is not a Facebook user.

I cleaned all the extraneous additions of letters, etc out of the link and I tested it a couple times. It seems to be working okay now. Maybe try it again and see if it works for you? Sorry for the confusion.

If you still can’t get through on Zoom, the telephone dial-in might work for you also.

When you click the Zoom link, you should get a screen like this, and then just follow the prompts to launch Zoom and see video of the prayer leaders.

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Rosary will be starting this evening at 8 pm Eastern, in 10 minutes.
(I missed last night’s because unfortunately I fell asleep and slept through my alarm for the Rosary.)

I have fixed the Zoom link above, hopefully it will work for everybody who wants to join now.

Bump for the Rosary starting in 5 minutes at 8 pm ET. I missed last night’s because I was doing the virtual happy hour with the three priests that I posted about in another thread. So much Catholic stuff happening online it’s hard to choose sometimes.

Schedule adjustments to the nightly Rosary during the Paschal Triduum, as announced tonight:

Holy Thursday - No Rosary (due to conflict with evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Good Friday - Rosary at 8 pm ET regular time
Holy Saturday - Rosary at 7:30 pm ET (earlier start to avoid conflict with Easter Vigil Mass times)
Easter Sunday - Rosary at 8 pm ET regular time

Just a reminder that there will be no streamed Rosary tonight (Holy Thursday) in order to allow everyone to attend the Mass of the Lord’s Supper that is happening around Rosary time.

Bumping for Holy Saturday streamed Rosary, which tonight is at the special time of 7:30 pm Eastern time to avoid conflict with the Easter Vigil Mass which starts at 8 pm in many churches.
