Wow! That was impressive. I didn’t read it all – WOW!! – but sign me up for the future if that is what it is like! We must pray and work so it may be a reality.

Yes, this is what we need to work for. This is what God us to you through the Bible and the teaching of the church.

I think your section on the dominant culture of hedonism is spot on. I once thought of writing a book (I have a degree in theology before moomy-hood) on how most sin is avoidance of pain, and the inability to accept suffering. Sacrifice is not a virtue in our culture. People reject NFP and being open to life because they want all pleasure all the time…people lie because the truth is too painful or uncomfortable. We are vulnerable to greed, sloth, envy, etc because it seems to do otherwise is hard work and wouldn’t be fun at all. The cross is central to our life, suffering is part of loving sacrificially. The book will never be written by me – but the Pope has done a great job with his Salvifici Doloris

I also agree that American culture of individualism and democracy presents challenges…

Very well done! Again, I have only read a fraction but it is bookmarked!

whoa! That looks amazing. Thank you for giving me more reading material. :dancing:

You are all welcome.

If you see anything missing or confusion, let me know.

Anyone else have some comments about it? Is anything missing?

For those outside of the US, how well does it apply to your country?
