A devoted Catholic family member of mine who is fairly young went from excellent health and clear scans to being diagnosed with advanced cancer within a matter of months. We are praying for a miracle! Please keep her in your prayers.

While she was at a doctors appointment and waiting for the doctor to come in the room, I led the rosary for the family members in the room to pray for her healing. We went through two rosaries, and at some point this family member with cancer drifted to sleep for a little bit. After the rosary ended, she said while she drifted to sleep for a bit, she saw a light vision of Mary (like the one from Fatima) holding flowers.

Now I know we do not know for sure what that could mean, but I am curious on your thoughts on this? I took this as a good sign as we were praying for her healing and help from God with medical treatment. Another family member took this as a bad sign in that she is being called home. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you!

My thoughts at this moment are to say a prayer for all to accept God’s will. I will keep all of you in my prayers and I will pray especially for peace.

My thought is “that’s nice”. I don’t mean that in a snippy way, but I don’t get particularly excited about claims of visions. Perhaps she had one; or perhaps she did not. And if she did, I have no clue as to what it means.

Praying for her, and praying for her recovery are righteous acts of faith. Concerning yourself as to whether or not she had a vision (or just imagined it) is simply a distraction to the matter at hand - praying for her. Don’t get side-tracked.

If she had an accompanying feeling it might be useful to help discern the meaning.

In any event I pray for her recovery or as God wills it.
🙏

There are many who have seen Mother Mary, while saying the rosary or even ordinary people, who have experienced, a kind of peace or fragrance of roses and jasmine, perhaps she is interceding for her.it is said, the presence of mother Mary at the last moment ,but not yet only when St Joseph comes then its the last, as he is the patron of a good death ,not for all though ,salvation depends upon the last moment that’s why satan and evil spirit has the maximum attacks on the soul,at the end of our lives ,that said Mary’s presence will be a blessing in disguise .

Nonsense! how can this be a bad sign,more-ever, God has appointed time for each one of us to be purified here on earth. the sooner the better ,and the more we suffer 😭 here on earth the better, for we settle our accounts 😉 right! ,than in the fires of purgatory ,for it seems, one day in purgatory would be like spending a thousand days , so i consider it a big blessing in disguise, and specially favored, suffering has redemptive value in the sight of God ,the soul is purified from all impurity of the mind body and soul ,the family is blessed, for the caring and patience are rewarded ,we should not let go of even, the smallest of sufferings like a headaches or body pains,in our day to day lives, just offer them as act of love and reparation for the souls in purgatory for yourself, family for the pope and the Church thought, physically absent ,they will be with us in spirit. Death is not the end but the beginning, for anyone can be called at any time there is no age limit 😃 .God Bless

Wisdom 3:1 But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God,and no torment will ever touch them.2 In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster,3 and their going from us to be their destruction;but they are at peace.4 For though in the sight of others they were punished, their hope is full of immortality.5 Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself;6 like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt offering he accepted them.7 In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the stubble.8 They will govern nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them forever.9 Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his holy ones, and he watches over his elect.

Thank you- one thing I do not understand is the suffering. I understand it can help cleanse before passing, but then what about people who have chronic illness who suffer every single day since childhood or young adulthood? It’s confusing!

one thing I do not understand is the suffering.
We cannot understand suffering full, because as st Paul say suffering is a mystery,( 1 Corinthians 13:9 For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; 10 but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.)
I understand it can help cleanse before passing, but then what about people who have chronic illness who suffer every single day since childhood or young adulthood? It’s confusing!
They are suffering for their souls, family, and the world at large All, of our suffering — past, present and future — and also all of our sins / Graces, has multi-dimensional effect in heaven ,hell purgatory and on earth,- in heaven,(there is rejoicing in heaven when one sinner repents and comes back to Jesus) on Earth (souls are purified of all impurities in Purgatory and even hell (is diminished and vanquished when we resist sin and temptation and strive for holiness )

Today we leave them all at the foot of the Cross, we unite them to the suffering of Christ and Mary , which is to say the suffering of God with us and for our sake. Only in this way does it acquire all of its redemptive and salvific power is at its best, soul is meant only to pray and our bodies only meant to do penance.till we reach heaven safely
1 Corinthians 9:27 but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.

(In suffering Therese always united her heart to Jesus Christ. She believed that even suffering, however difficult, had a place in Gods redemptive love for us. She was convinced that our suffering, in union with the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, could help to transform the world. What is the greatest truth of all may not be the most obvious. There is a hiddenness to the wisdom of God that catches fire in hearts and events and places and over time ever so gradually consumes the earth in love!)
Romans 5 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
