Seventh month ago I received invitation to start my Vocation as hermit in New Jersey USA, but my Visa is rejected two times, now I continue as a hermit without ask bishop or any public vows.
My problem is Visa, somebody help me.
Or should I find another hermit community outside USA? Any information about Vocation as hermit ?
Thanks

There are very few hermit ‘communities’, so am I safe in assuming that you are talking about the Hermits of Bethlehem in NJ? If so, I know them well. It is a shame that your visa is the hold up to your vocation, but there isn’t really anything can do about it apart from the immigration department. If your community can offer some kind of sponsorship, that might help, but the way the US is tightening up immigration laws, I don’t hold out a lot of hope for that angle.

Have you tried investigating other place where you can be a hermit in community? You could also just be a hermit in your own diocese if you speak with the Bishop/Archbishop there and ask about this. Being a solitary hermit is probably a little easier to achieve if you have an accommodating Bishop than finding a ‘laura’ or community of hermits.

Best wishes.

It’s not an easy path to tread. Congratulations for finding a community.

Is the diocese able to help you with your visa?

Not sure this is helpful, but in addition to the hermitages mentioned, remember there are the Carmelite Hermits in Texas. I’ve heard good things about them. So sorry to hear about your visa troubles. What about hermitages in your own country? The Church greatly needs hermits in all lands and places - could God possibly be calling you to work there? I’ll be praying for you, brother.
