Can vocation be a simpler thing than we anticipate? I basically knew from a young age that I wanted to be a father and teach my children the faith but I’m always told to always be open to other vocations. I pray every night about it and I’m always open to what god would have planned for my life but when I weigh out the options being married is what I feel is my best way to serve god. I’m 18 btw.

I think so, especially if you’re always open to other vocations. God leads by planting desires in our hearts. My children have seemed almost “destined” (though that’s not really the proper term) for certain vocations since they were young, especially apparent after Confirmation, and I have a mix of religious and lay.

Some people are blessed with simplicity in their choices.
There’s no need to make “vocation” into a big complicated thing if it’s an easy choice for you.
