how man vocation callings are there is there really a Single blessedness?
Hey now, what’s wrong with that link being to a Canadian site? If it’s orthodox and useful information then who cares if it’s from Canada, France or wherever else?Sorry, I don’t think I quite understand what you are asking.
There are four vocations recognized by the Church:
This link, while Canadian, may give you an idea of the different vocations:
- Married Life
- Single Life
- Ordained Life (Priesthood)
- Religious Life

God bless!
Nothing wrong with it being Canadian, I’m Canadian myself! The original poster is from the Philippines, so I just wanted to emphasize it’s worth looking at even though it may not be where he/she’s from. Some people might see the “.ca” and think it might not be relevant to them but I wanted to address that before anyone disregards it.Hey now, what’s wrong with that link being to a Canadian site? There are other forms of consecrated life than being a religious. A person could become a diocesan hermit, a consecrated virgin, or a consecrated widow (I’m not sure if eastern Catholics have that last vocation but eastern orthodox certainly do).

I’m not at peace with the single life. Yet, I may be stuck with single life, because I’m gay… therefore marriage is definitely out. And, its starting to look more and more like priesthood/ religious life are also out of reach for me.“How many vocation callings are there? The number of vocational callings have already been listed.
I have known persons called to the single life. Wherever God wants you will give a sense of peace and interior stability. If you’re more at peace being single, then pursue that.

we are all called to emulate the angels. go before god and abandon yourself to him.I’m not at peace with the single life. I feel consigned to a vocation which is thought of so highly in the Catholic Church, that its members question whether it even exists… like the OP. Woe is me![]()
