VOTE for your LEAST favorite Christmas song for 2004

I think I’ve only heard two of those this year. The Hippopotomus song the weekend before Thanksgiving and The Chipmunks song today. I like the Chipmunks song, actually.

Yeah, me too… I liked a lot of that stuff from the “Rodent Invasion” of the late '60s.

The Hippo song is definitely the worst and most annoying song ever. It makes me want to reach for my official Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle and shoot the radio whenever I hear it.

I voted for “So This is Christmas” because it’s written and sung by the same person who wrote “Imagine… there’s no Heaven, it’s easy if you try.”

Sad to say, but I don’t imagine that anyone who doesn’t believe in God would understand at all what Christmas is.

Hippopotamus? I LOVE that song! I voted the one by Band aid simply because i havent heard of them. i actually like wost of the songs anyway…
 
Santa Baby is the most annoying, sickening, (so-called) Christmas song there ever was.
 
The “Hippo” song nearly makes my ears bleed. I’m ready to pay the radio stations to never play it again.

Good poll, but my other most-hated, most rage-inducing “Christmas” song is “We Need a Little Christmas” by the Percy Faith Orchestra. Every time that song comes on, I’ve got my hands in dishwater. Every time, I debate whether risking electrocution to turn off the radio is worse than listening to the whole song. So far I’ve elected to keep my wet hands off the electronics. If I hear that song too many more times, that might change.

Wish there was room for more choices, but the SEVEN listed were the ones that got the most comments being the WORST for this year. I am sure we could do this again a year from now. (Maybe the poll system could be risen to TEN by this time next year).

Gee the Hippo song is such a popular choice and I’ve never heard it! I’ll keep my ears open though…there is still a day or two to go.

I voted for Paul McCartney’s song. I couldn’t stand him when he was with the Beatles and still can’t stand him. I’d rather listen to the Chipmunks…

Say speaking of bad songs, what about the dogs woofing Jingle Bells or did I miss that one on the list?

Yes you did miss the Barking Dogs doing Jingle Bells (It should be the third one listed)

And when you DO hear the Hippo Christmas song, you WON"T be able to get it out of your brain! :eek:
 
I voted for the Grandma and the Reindeer one.

I haven’t heard the Hippo song ~ I guess that’s a good thing:D

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” UGH it is awful

I would have voted for “Dominick the Donkey” :dancing: if it were on the list.

I am the thread killer, it was fun reading all the posts!

You’re right. I went back up and noticed it was listed. Still rather listen to dogs or chipmunks than McCartney. I just never liked the sound of his voice. Funny how there are multiple Beatles songs on the best of the worst.

I so dislike the *Grandma got run over… *song-- I can just change the station or turn it off. But Dominick the Donkey!!!
I get stuck singing that one!!! :dancing:

I first heard it last year and couldnt get enough! It wasjust this morning that I FNALLY heard it again on the radio!

*sniff… I LOVE that little Donkey! 😛

My two true hatreds are:

Jingle Bells by Barbra Streisand

And these two XMAS songs done by Whitney Houston… (cant recall the titles now…she truly made the orignal melodies escape my memory by her horrendous renditions!) I love her voice…but she absolutly ghettoizes these 2 XMAS songs I have heard her do on the radio. 😦

Oh, please tell me this woman did not hijack the song originally sung by Vince Vance and the Valiants! I am so sick of these divas mercilessly mauling half-way decent songs and turning them into “I-can-put-more-syllables-into-the-word-“and”-than-you-can” competitions!

And why was “All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” not on the list? The sound effects on that song (depending on the version, some are pretty vivid) make me feel sick!

That said, however, if anyone touches “Snoopy’s Christmas”, I’ll have to hurt them!
