I stumbled upon the web site bethinking.org when doing some web browsing on people refuting/debating atheists. The site is apparently created by a group called “UCCF: The Christian Unions.” I was reading about William Lane Craig.

My question: does anyone know to what extent this site, its organizers, or W. L. Craig are in communion with the Catholic Church?

It isn’t obvious to me based on what I’ve had time to check into so far.

Thanks,
–Danny

Craig is an evangelical Protestant. I don’t think he’s hostile to Catholicism–I think he would be very much of the mind that evangelicals and Catholics have a lot in common and should stand together on behalf of “mere Christianity.”

On the standard arguments for God’s existence, his defense of the Christian faith, and his refutations of atheism, he is excellent, probably the best Christian debater I have ever heard.

William Lane Craig was interviewed on Catholic radio show host Al Kresta’s show Kresta in the Afternoon (an excellent show, by the way). Kresta is a Catholic revert and does regularly interview on friendly terms many of his former colleagues from his Evangelical Protestant days.

Here is the interview with Craig in Aug. 2008 on God (in the second half of the hour).
