First off, I am Catholic and proud of it, but, I have a question. I constantly feel like I’m walking on “egg shells”, being catholic, I feel like sometimes I cannot be myself, like goofing around, because I feel like it’s sin. I am like to afraid to sort of live. I just need general spiritual help in this regard. thanks. I know that priests can be funny and such but when is it too much or how can you not feel like everything you do is going to be “bad”.

Good Morning, I know sometimes we all get a little anxious if we dwell on "did I do this right or do that right’ You should not put that kind of weight on yourself…Jesus certainly would not want you to. Come to Him as the good person you are. Remember Jesus said ‘Come to Me all you who are heavily laden and I will give you rest’…Try going to Mass, listen to the priest during the Consecration and when the priest ask the Lord to give us Peace. Sometimes we need other people to talk to, especially if there is something else going on in our lives, I hope that Jesus will stay close in your life. My prayers are with you. God Bless.

Sometimes around here if things get funny they also get in the gutter and off color… I feel like I should not laugh at that. So often I’m a stick in the mud. But while Jesus had and appreciates a sense of humor I don’t think he would take it to a low level, so I’m not going to, either. I just pray for them…

Since Catholics are considered the most fun loving of all Christians, I’m wondering what this has to do with your Catholicism? In fact, other Christians look down on us because we have so much fun.

Remember, some Christian denominations don’t allow dancing, drinking, partying of any sort, some must wear certain colors, some aren’t allowed to go anywhere unchaperoned. I’m not complaining about those guys. If that’s what they want, get after it. But our religion is a joyful religion.

We have all of these freedoms as long as we don’t over indulge or get obnoxious.

So, what does your attitude have to do with Catholicism?

“Wherever the Catholic sun doth shine,
There’s always laughter and good red wine.
At least I’ve always found it so.
Benedicamus Domino!”
