Hi all, I’d really love a good book about Pauline Christology that IS NOT “academic” in nature (that is, addressed to an academic audience). So many of the commentaries on the Pauline letters are just BORING beyond conception and so full of tedious academic hair-splitting you wonder who reads them (or pretends to). A “classic” study of Paul, his theology or his life would be the thing. I always regretted Chesterton’s not having written a bio of Paul.

I’l also like a good book about Catholic sainthood generally, if anyone can recommend anything there. Again, non-academic.

Thanks.

I am sorry to say that I don’t have a recommendation about Saint Paul.
However, I have enjoyed reading non-Catholic saint books - Reluctant Saint: The Life of Francis of Assisi by Donald Spoto and Mark Twain’s Joan of Arc. To then compare them with Catholic commentary is very interesting.
