Hi, I understand that masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. Now one question, are nipples considered a genital organ? If they aren’t, would intimacy limited to that area be sinful?

Sorry, this is an awkward question, but ashamed to ask in person…

Thanks!

Now, what would happen if orgasm was achieved by nipple stimulation… Would it be sinful then?
Seems to me such a situation would be sinful because of the Sin of Lust. sexual pleasure for its own sake rather than for procreation/Love.

I find it extremely hard to believe that anyone male or female could achieve orgasm / ejaculation with just nipple stimulation.
Per the Journal of Sexual Medicine:
“The researchers discovered that stimulation of the nipple activated an area of the brain known as the genital sensory cortex. This is the same brain region activated by stimulation of the clitoris, vagina and cervix. What this means is that women’s brains seem to process nipple and genital stimulation in the same way. In light of this, it is not at all surprising that many women are aroused by having their nipples touched and that, for some, this may be enough to lead to orgasm.”

I neuroscience as a hobby 😊

Yup, a no go thing.
I think the very fact you are questioning it means you have a fair idea it is wrong ,op.God bless.

Yes, if it is intended for “setting in motion the generative powers while preventing them from achieving, their natural, divinely intended purpose”.

Of course results of nursing of an infant is OK.

Modern Catholic Dictionary
Masturbation. Direct stimulation of the sex organs outside of sexual intercourse. The self-stimulation can be physical, by means of some external object, or psychic, by means of thoughts and the imagination. It is a grave misuse of the procreative faculty and when done with full consent and deliberation is a serious sin. The sinfulness consists in setting in motion the generative powers while preventing them from achieving, their natural, divinely intended purpose.

Nipples are not genitals. However, nipples on many if not most women and even some men are a known erogenous zone, so stimulating them for lustful purposes is the same as engaging in passionate kissing for lustful purposes, or engaging in bodily massage for lustful purposes.

Basically, it doesn’t matter if you’re stimulating a genital, a nipple, or your left knuckle - if it’s turning you on and it’s not foreplay to the marital act with your spouse, then it’s a sin and you shouldn’t be doing it.

This doesn’t require an analysis by a priest. It’s basic common sense.

If you’re wondering what to call it in confession you can just say you touched yourself in a lustful way. If someone else did it to you then the English phrase is “heavy petting”.

Nevermore Lenore is correct.

I can’t speak for men, but women can achieve orgasm in all kinds of ways that don’t involve the genitals.

However, climaxing is not necessary for arousal to be a grave matter sin in and of itself.

Anything sexual or leads to feeling sexul as to be with husband and wife and open to life. end
