You have it backwards. People don’t hear about Bella Dodd first. First they think “why is the Church reversing itself on everything she used to hold dear? What explains this? What is happening?”
Then at some point they read about Bella Dodd, and they realize, “oh. that explains it”.

First of all, you think most of “right-wing gripes” about the Church and the Vatican come from Bella Dodd? Secondly, what gripes are these?

There is no “right wing” in the Church. That is a political term and has no use in the discussion of the Catholic Church.
