Was Jesus Christ an “Out of the Box” thinker in interacting with the people of his day?? ( Note how he dealt with Samaritan woman at the well and Mary Magdalene which became a saint later)

I tend to avoid labelling Jesus as being an “out of the box thinker” or “counter cultural”. More often than not, I find the labels to be used by those seeking to push agendas that I doubt Jesus would approve of. It’s almost as if people take away that he was “counter cultural” and make that the important part rather than His actual teaching. And don’t even get me started on how many of these people aren’t even being counter cultural. They’re often just walking in-line with whatever their preferred political party says and calling it “counter cultural”.

That said, obviously Jesus did things against first century Jewish culture. On the flip side, He also stuck to many aspects of the Jewish culture faithfully. It’s better to focus on the core teaching rather than trying to pull some counter cultural message from it, which obviously would become irrelevant in the ways that that culture is built on what Jesus taught.

Of course He was an “outside the box” thinker. People don’t tend to plot to murder “inside the box” thinkers as they pose no threat to the status quo.
